This course examines indigenous African modes of communication before and alongside modern mass media. It explores the role of traditional systems such as storytelling, symbols, proverbs, drums, town criers, and festivals in conveying messages and preserving culture.

Students learn how these systems promote social order, education, and cultural identity within African societies. The course highlights their relevance to modern communication and their adaptability to development and community relations.
