BIO416INDUSTRIAL MICROBIOLOGY
BIO416 – Industrial Microbiology explores the use of microorganisms in industrial processes such as fermentation, production of antibiotics, enzymes, biofuels, and food products. Topics include microbial strain improvement, bioreactor design, quality control, and regulatory issues in microbial production systems.
Students conduct fermentation experiments and learn about scaling-up processes from lab to industry. The course provides a bridge between microbiology and industrial applications, equipping students with practical skills for biotechnology industries, pharmaceuticals, environmental technology, and food manufacturing sectors.
