BIO415VIROLOGY AND TISSUE CULTURE
BIO415 – Virology and Tissue Culture introduces the structure, classification, replication, and pathogenicity of viruses affecting humans, animals, and plants. It also covers viral diagnostics, vaccines, antiviral strategies, and virus-host interactions. The tissue culture component teaches aseptic techniques, media preparation, and in vitro growth of plant and animal cells.
Laboratory sessions allow students to observe cytopathic effects, culture cells, and understand virus propagation techniques. This integrated course provides foundational skills in virology and biotechnology, preparing students for careers in medical research, pharmaceuticals, plant pathology, and vaccine development.
