PH5403 – Accident and Emergency

This course provides knowledge and skills necessary to manage medical emergencies and traumatic injuries. Topics include triage principles, emergency response systems, basic and advanced life support, trauma care, and disaster preparedness. Students also learn about communication, teamwork, and psychological first aid in emergency settings.

It prepares students to act swiftly and efficiently in life-threatening situations, either as first responders or as support personnel within the healthcare system. Emphasis is placed on practical simulations and case-based scenarios to build decision-making competence under pressure.
